The Story of Glass of Bubbly
Take a quick journey back to 2013 when Glass of Bubbly was launched and travel the history of how the company became one of the biggest names in the world for Champagne and Sparkling Wine news and information globally.
October 2013 - Launch
A dedicated website to the world of Sparkling Wine is launched and it is appropriately named Glass of Bubbly. It is quickly followed by the launch of the Glass of Bubbly magazine that went on to produce 17 issues. Interest quickly builds.
March 2016 - Investment
Crowdfunding time and investment found. Though still early days for Glass of Bubbly, the family run business decided to release a small percentage of equity to attract investor interest and in March 2016 we welcomed a new shareholder onboard.
April 2016 - Show
The decision is taken, following many recommendations, to hold annual Champagne and Sparkling Wine trade & press tastings for the industry thus The Glass of Bubbly Show was born. It now stands as one of the leading wine shows in London.
September 2017 - Awards
A unique system is created in judging of Champagne and Sparkling Wines that form the first ever Glass of Bubbly World's Finest Awards in London. Today, judges fly in from around the world to partake in the judging process, 19 trophies are awarded each year along with the Sustainability Trophy and The World's Finest Carynx.
March 2019 - New Website
The web traffic increases globally as does the social media reach - A new website is called for to deliver the daily international press releases plus articles and interviews from a global collection of bubbly writers.
April 2023 - Sustainability
During the annual Glass of Bubbly Show of 2023, the Sustainability in Wine Summit is launched and sponsored by Prosecco DOC. This two hour live event helps to showcase the progress in sustainability throughout the wine industry with guest speakers to include Slow Food International and Waitrose.
